How often has fear of others’ opinion stopped you from doing something different?
Our social context shapes up how do we see ourselves. Friends, family, colleagues, neighbours… condition our thinking on who and how we are, or what can/cannot achieve.
Most people end up living up to others’ expectations, not achieving what they really want, stuck in the same patterns, habits…
You may go for a holiday to relieve stress, you may get drunk in the weekends to have a “good time”… then what? Back to your daily routine to wait for another holiday or another weekend.
Time passers are good, don’t get me wrong. But equally good are the rewards of hard work when it applies to your passion, to build your way up to do what you love.
It comes with sacrifices, you may not be able to go for a long holiday, you may disappoint your friends or you may receive unhelpful comments or criticism.
Get some courage, ignore naysayers and go after what you want.
