Motivate yourself like a champion
Lack of motivation is so common among busy professionals. Rushing to meet deadlines, keeping your manager happy, fitting in your work trips.. these are activities that we prioritise over anything else. Our paycheck depends on them, after all we need the money to buy food, clothes, pay the rent or mortgage and look after our family.
Exercising and healthy eating takes a secondary place. We let the stress drive us and control us, at the end of each day you only want to “relax”, and sweating and running out of breath is the opposite of relaxation.
But here is the trap, the more you stop caring about your health and the more you neglect your fitness the higher are the chances you’ll get more stressed. It’s a vicious circle, you want to relax on the couch, because the pleasure of relaxing on the couch cannot compare with the exhaustion of exercising. So you decide not to exercise and heath crisps, drink coke and nibble low quality sandwiches. But in reality you know is not good for you, therefore it puts additional stress on your mind and body.
The real benefits of exercising and eating healthy are nothing compared to the instant gratification of watching TV from your sofa, right?
Think it twice: How good you would look and feel, how much better you would perform and handle stress when your health is great. You would stop caring about unimportant things and prioritising the important ones.
“What my boss is going to say if I don’t finish my job today?” “What is the client thinking?” “what is my colleague thinking?” etc etc… All psychological burdens produced by stress.
Because one of the most common mistakes people make is not working on their own goals after their 9 to 5pm job. Your 9 to 5pm job should be the start of your day, stop working on yourself after 5pm and you will miss a lot of good things in life. Of course you can always go get smashed in the night club on the weekend and lie yourself thinking that you “enjoy life”.
Life should be enjoy daily, from the satisfaction and rewards of hard work in your occupation and in yourself. Good things in life are worth doing every day. Exercising, eating healthy, meeting successful people.. are worth doing every day. Drinking, eating rubbish and lazing around are not.
Bad habits won’t make you fell better, look better, have a great health or be successful.
