It has been scientifically proven that negative thoughts predispose your body to illness. Negativity in any form affects your energy levels; complaining, moaning, making excuses… all mental movies we tell ourselves to think we’re right.
There is a lot of negativity these days; in the media, in society, probably at work and in your family too. We’re constantly told how terrible is the world, why you cannot make your dreams come true, why you should stop trying to get the life you want… too many people are in denial of their physical and spiritual health.
There are now more cases of diagnosed depression than ever! What is the most common solution…? antidepressants. Many people are negative despite they don’t show it verbally, you can see it in their body language, the way they interact with others, even in their eating habits.
Since this is a fitness blog how can fitness help you? Removing negativity, learning how to love yourself, being mindful of what you eat, honouring your body through exercise… these are reasons why I love helping people get fit.
The excuse of time is the most used and abused. Well, I think everyone can make time for what is important..
“I don’t have time to exercise, I have kids”: Stop using your family as an excuse, and start using them as a driving force to look after yourself. I’m sure your wife/husband and children will like you more if you’re healthy and live longer and happier.
“I don’t have time, I’m always travelling for work”: Me too! and I always pack my gym clothes and manage to work out from the hotel room, from the hotel gym or even from a regular gym if you are member of a franchise. You can do this first time in the morning, cut down the beers in the evening and go to bed earlier. In the morning workout with some music from your phone.
“I don’t feel like exercising, I don’t have the energy”: Perhaps that is the consequence of a unhealthy lifestyle. Also learn to do things you don’t want or feel like doing because then is when you’ll really improve yourself.
